Backpack Checklist

Notes:

Put your name on everything that's yours!
Backpack should be adequate size and properly adjusted
- Adequate hip belt / shoulder straps
- Try to make sure that you pack weights no more than 25% of your body weight
Everything well secured
- Nothing hanging on the outside of pack (except sleeping bag/pad)
- Nothing carried in hands! (except walking stick)
Uniform - typically class 'B' unless noted otherwise
Footwear
- Waterproof, broken-in, strudy boots
- Proper foot care (clip toenails before hike, bring moleskin and use as needed)
- Dry socks = comfy feet
